
Have you experienced a sound bath yet? This is what it is like. You get to rest on a mat or massage table (with a blanket and pillow(s)) for 40-45 minutes with nothing else to do but let the sounds and vibrations of singing bowls, chimes, drums, rattles… wash over and through you. The harmonic vibrations of the Himalayan singing bowls engage the relaxation reflex, moving you into your parasympathetic “rest and digest” nervous system.
In general, the sound and vibration help to reduce stress, quiet the mind, and create a deep sense of peace and well-being. But the experience of a sound bath may be different for everyone. You might experience a deep relaxation, or clarity of mind, or pain relief. Or perhaps you will experience a release of emotional tension, or an increased sense of energy or vitality, maybe improved self-confidence or creativity.
